The Yamaha Organ Club, which was previously located on Currie Street in Adelaide and led by Kerry Burt, now an AMC Life Member, hosted several musical evenings in the early 1990s. This sparked the interest of many, leading to the formation of the Adelaide Music Club. The inaugural Club night took place at 6pm on March 7, 1994, at the Leg Trap Hotel in Westlakes. As the Club expanded, it relocated to the Convention Centre on Findon Road, and about 15 years ago, it found a new home in the Grand Ballroom, a fantastic venue well-managed by Mimi and Donato De Ieso. The Club is proud of its long-standing memberships, including Peter Brown, a Life Member who retired in 2023 after serving as Musical Director since the Club’s inception, with his partner Gwen providing invaluable support throughout the years. Barry Hall, known as Mr. Music from 5DN radio, is also a Life Member and was a patron during the Club’s early days. Current treasurer Eric Fiebig, a Life Member, and his wife Ruth, who is also a Life Member, joined in 2000 and have dedicated many years to the executive committee, each serving as President for four years. Sadly, we lost Ruth in January 2023. Another Life Member, Ken Potts, who has passed away, held various executive roles and managed member records for many years. Many members proudly celebrate over 20 years of membership.
